Todo porque en diciembre de 2018 se\ninstal\u00f3 el carenado aerodin\u00e1mico del \u00faltimo de los trenes de la flota con que\nempez\u00f3 a operar el sistema en 1995. Es as\u00ed como hoy los 42 trenes MAN poseen un\naspecto frontal redondeado que los hace m\u00e1s aerodin\u00e1micos, lo cual representa\nun ahorro energ\u00e9tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dice el informe que\nel proyecto, llamado \u201cadecuaci\u00f3n aerodin\u00e1mica de los trenes MAN\u201d, naci\u00f3 de la\nnecesidad de buscar opciones para el ahorro de energ\u00eda, dado que este recurso representa\naltos costos para la empresa. Por esto se comenz\u00f3 a investigar, junto con la\nUniversidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) y el apoyo de Colciencias\n(departamento del gobierno colombiano para Ciencia, Tecnolog\u00eda y Innovaci\u00f3n) el\nefecto de la aerodin\u00e1mica en el consumo de la energ\u00eda de los trenes,\nconcluyendo que una manera efectiva de ahorrar energ\u00eda en la operaci\u00f3n de estos\nveh\u00edculos era mejorando su condici\u00f3n aerodin\u00e1mica, cambi\u00e1ndoles su apariencia\nfrontal por medio de un carenado elaborado con materiales compuestos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dicho estudio\nemple\u00f3 simulaciones de Din\u00e1mica de Fluidos Computacionales (CFD), una t\u00e9cnica\nnovedosa en nuestro medio, lo que facilit\u00f3 el estudio del estado actual de la\naerodin\u00e1mica de los trenes, para comprender donde se encontraban los\nprincipales puntos a mejorar en un menor tiempo y a menor costo. Luego,\nmediante la misma herramienta, se probaron diferentes configuraciones de\ntesteros frontales para lograr este objetivo. Despu\u00e9s de varios modelos se\nlleg\u00f3 a la forma actual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NUEVO TESTERO, MENOR RESISTENCIA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El frente o\ntestero frontal cuadrado con que fueron fabricados los trenes MAN, opone mayor\nresistencia a la velocidad, lo que implica un mayor gasto energ\u00e9tico. Gracias a\nestos nuevos carenados o m\u00e1scaras frontales redondeados, se genera menor\nresistencia de los trenes frente al viento y estos necesitan menos energ\u00eda para\ndesplazarse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de la\nmodificaci\u00f3n de la cabina externa del tren, se adecu\u00f3 el panel de conductor\npara hacerlo m\u00e1s ergon\u00f3mico y moderno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La inversi\u00f3n en\nel proyecto fue de aproximadamente 2 mil millones de pesos (USD 700.832).
